The National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS) is a self-governing body under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA). This organisation will have its fourth Foundation Day on April 2, 2022.
The aim of NESTS
NESTS began its journey four years ago with the goal of offering high-quality education in a tribal-specific setting to all tribal kids across the country.
NESTS’s Milestones
NESTS have reached a number of milestones in its brief existence, which began in 2019. It has also given its approval to the construction of 391 new schools. A total of 123 schools have begun operations, with
140 schools now under construction.
NESTS’s Objectives
By the year 2025, NESTS and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs have set goals to finish the building of 452 new schools and the pending 67 schools under the old system.
The new schools will be equipped with cutting-edge technology and will follow the Navodya Vidyalaya model. The building of the schools is being monitored by the various states’ IITs and NITs, as well as
specific NESTS teams.
