Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurates the ‘Iconic Week Celebrations’ of the ministries of finance and corporate affairs.
People-centric governance and an ongoing commitment to good governance have been hallmarks of the BJP-led government at the Centre over the last eight years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Monday 6th June as he inaugurated the ‘Iconic Week Celebrations’ of the ministries of finance and corporate affairs at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.
People-centric governance
“In the past, the country bore the brunt of government-centric governance. But today, 21st-century India is moving forward with the approach of people-centric governance,” Modi said at the event, which also included Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
Modi also launched a special series of coins that are ‘visually impaired friendly’ on the occasion. The coins with the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) design in denominations of Re 1, 2, 5, 10, and 20 are not commemorative and will be circulated.
New Coins will remind the goal of amrit kal
“These new coins will remind people of the goal of amrit kal and motivate them to work for the country’s development,” Modi said.
Modi also unveiled the ‘Jan Samarth portal,’ which is a credit-linked portal for 12 government schemes.
In the last eight years, India has also worked on various dimensions. “The increased public participation in the country during this period has given impetus to the country’s development and empowered the poorest of the country’s citizens,” the PM said.
“Swachh Bharat Abhiyan – gave the poor a chance to live with dignity.” Facilities such as pucca houses, electricity, gas, water, and free treatment increased the dignity and facilities of the poor. “During the Corona period, the scheme of free rationing liberated more than 80 crore countrymen from the fear of hunger,” he added.
Modi stated that the country’s reforms over the last eight years have prioritised the country’s youth in order for them to demonstrate their potential.
Our youth can easily open the company they want, they can easily make their enterprises, and they can easily run them,” Modi said.
