Mithali Raj, India’s ODI captain

Mithali Raj, India’s ODI captain, surpassed former Australian counterpart Belinda Clark as the most matches captained in the ICC Women’s World Cup.
Mithali, 39, led her country to 14 triumphs, 8 losses, and one no-result game in 24 World Cup games. Clark had led her team to 23 victories.

More than two world Cup captaincy

When she came out to lead India against the West Indies in a key match at the ongoing showpiece event here, she accomplished the trick.
Mithali and Clark are the only two cricketers to have captained their country in multiple World Cups.
Mithali joined the likes of Sachin Tendulkar and Pakistani legend Javed Miandad in becoming only the third cricketer and the first woman to play in six World Cups.

‘Big-match players’, Smriti Mandhana, Harmanpreet Kaur

In a crucial encounter at the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur struck superb century to lead India to their biggest total in the showcase event’s history, a 317 for eight against the West Indies.

While Mandhana hit her fifth ODI century, a dazzling 119 from 123 balls with 13 fours and two sixes, Kaur hit her fourth, a 107-ball 109, her first since a World Cup-winning 171 not out against Australia in 2017.
After captain Mithali Raj won the toss and chose to bat, the pair put on a 184-run fourth-wicket stand to lift India over the 200-run mark. At the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, this was also India’s highest
partnership for any wicket.
