History
The Ministry of Women and Child Development established National Girl Child Day in 2008.The major goal of National Girl Child Day is to raise awareness and address disparities that girls confront in the country, as well as to educate everyone about a girl child’s rights.
This year, the Ministry of Culture is hosting an event called ‘Umang Rangoli Utsav’ as part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.’According to a news release, the participating teams will create Rangoli decorations at over 50 prominent spots across the country.
What makes 2022 National Girl Child Day unique?
The awardees of the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar will meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The award winners will be given digital certificates for the first time, thanks to blockchain technology. This prize is given to females between the ages of five and eighteen. Every year, the awards are given out. Social service, art and culture, athletics, scholastics, and bravery are among the categories for which prizes are given. The President of India presents these prizes in Rashtrapati Bhawan. A medal, a cash prize of one lakh rupees, and a certificate are presented to the award winners.
International girl child day
