Sikh soldiers constitute a larger portion of the Indian army. They can be seen serving the nation in various fields like armed forces, central police, and paramilitary forces. To honor their dedication and bravery, a combat helmet has been introduced for the Sikh soldiers for the first time in India.
The helmet is given the name ‘Veer Helmet or Kavro SCH 111 T.’ The unique design of the helmet enables it to be worn over the ‘cloth patka’ worn by Sikh troops. This helmet is not only light, but it is also antifungal and antiallergenic. The helmet is made with innovative design and technology, providing exceptional ballistic protection.
MKU introduced the Veer helmet
MKU, a Kanpur-based Global Defense and Homeland Security Company have designed the special ballistic helmet. This helmet can protect the soldier’s head from bullets and fragments up to Level IIIA. There is also a Modular Accessory Connector System (MACS) in the veer helmet. MACS is a multi-accessory mounting system for head-mounted sensors and modern military equipment such as night-vision goggles, helmet cameras, and communications equipment.
Super comfortable Veer helmet for Sikh soldiers
The ‘Veer Helmet’ is designed in such a way that Sikh warriors can easily wear it over the cloth (patka) under their turban. The helmet is designed bolt-free to prevent secondary fragmentation. The veer helmet is super comfortable and relaxing for the soldiers. This helmet is both shockproof and chemical-free.
Unique features of the Veer Helmet
‘Veer’ offers Level III protection to the soldier’s entire head from ballistic threats and fragments. The helmet incorporates innovative ‘Reduced Helmet Trauma Technology,’ which protects the skull from secondary injuries caused by back face deformation in helmets as a result of high-velocity ballistic contact.
“Turban is the pride of a Sikh”
According to MKU MD Neeraj Gupta, For a Sikh, the turban is his pride. The ‘Veer’ helmet from our company is meant to protect the lives of the brave Sikh soldiers. This will not hurt their religious sentiments either.
Manoj Gupta, chairman of the MKU, stated, “We noticed the necessity for head protection for our Sikh soldiers. Despite their significant contribution to national security, Sikh soldiers did not have helmets that may be safely worn to protect against ballistic threats. As a result, we decided to make it”.
