General Manoj Pande, the army’s chief of staff, stated on 1st May that his focus will be on current reforms, restructuring, and transformation to improve the army’s operational and functional efficiency.
The new army commander remarked after the ceremonial guard of honour, “The geopolitical scenario is rapidly changing, and we face numerous difficulties. It is the Indian Army’s responsibility to remain ready to meet any challenges in conjunction with other sister services. My goal will be to continue the work started by my predecessors.”
Who is General Manoj Pande, India’s new army chief?
General Manoj Pande is the first engineer to become the chief of Army staff. He attended the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Khadakwasla and the Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun.
After graduating from the IMA in December 1982, he was commissioned into the Bombay Sappers. General Pande served in important command and staff positions in conventional and counter-insurgency operations in all types of terrain during his 39-year military career.

“My foremost priority will be to ensure high standards of operational preparedness to face the current, contemporary & future challenges across the entire spectrum of conflict.” In terms of capability development & Force modernization, my effort will be to leverage new technologies through the process of indigenization & ‘Aatmanirbharta’,” he said”It gives me great pleasure to be given command of the Indian Army.”

In the same way, it helped to strengthen the nation,” the new army chief stated.”All officers in the Indian Army’s various arms and services have equal opportunities for career and professional advancement. All officers in top leadership roles are taught and focused on all facets of warfighting.” Pande, the general, added.
