In a significant development for India’s railway infrastructure, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated five Vande Bharat trains in Madhya Pradesh. The ceremony took place at the Rani Kamalapati railway station in Bhopal, where PM Modi gave the green light to these trains’ operations.
Enhanced Connectivity: The Vande Bharat trains flagged off by PM Modi include the Rani Kamalapati-Jabalpur Vande Bharat Express, Khajuraho-Bhopal-Indore Vande Bharat Express, Madgaon (Goa)-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express, Dharwad-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express, and Hatia-Patna Vande Bharat Express. These trains will play a vital role in improving connectivity between various regions across India.
The Rani Kamalapati-Jabalpur Vande Bharat Express will connect the Mahakaushal region (Jabalpur) to the Central region (Bhopal) of Madhya Pradesh. This will benefit popular tourist destinations such as Bheraghat, Pachmarhi, and Satpura, making them more accessible. The train will also offer a travel time advantage, being approximately 30 minutes faster than the current fastest train on the route.
The Khajuraho-Bhopal-Indore Vande Bharat Express will enhance connectivity between the Malwa region (Indore), Bundelkhand region (Khajuraho), and the Central region (Bhopal). This will facilitate easier access to significant tourist sites like Mahakaleshwar, Mandu, Maheshwar, Khajuraho, and Panna. The train is expected to be around two hours and 30 minutes faster than the existing fastest train on the route.
The Madgaon (Goa)-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express marks an important milestone for Goa’s railway connectivity. Operating between Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Goa’s Madgaon station, this train will reduce travel time by approximately one hour compared to the current fastest train connecting these two destinations.
The Dharwad-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express will connect major cities in Karnataka, including Dharwad, Hubballi, Davangere, and the state capital Bengaluru. This will enhance travel options and ease connectivity for passengers travelling between these important cities.
The Hatia-Patna Vande Bharat Express will be the first Vande Bharat train serving Jharkhand and Bihar. This development will strengthen the rail network in these states, providing a faster and more comfortable mode of travel for commuters.
With the launch of these Vande Bharat trains, Prime Minister Modi’s vision of enhanced connectivity and efficient travel takes a significant step forward. These trains will not only promote tourism and boost local economies but also improve overall transportation infrastructure across the country.
