AI-Powered Smart Cameras: A New Era of Policing

The use of AI-based technology in policing is becoming increasingly common in Middle East countries, and smart cameras are at the forefront of this trend. Equipped with advanced features such as lie detector brain wave readers and facial recognition systems, these cameras are capable of detecting and tracking criminal activities with incredible accuracy.

The Race for Hi-Tech Police in the Middle East

In the UAE cities of Dubai and Abu Dhabi, hi-tech cameras have been installed in strategic locations, and their connected devices can analyze the footage from up to 10,000 cameras to determine the location of every person entering the city from the airport. With small cameras fitted in pens and disposal cups, human faces and number plates can be traced from up to one kilometer away.

State-of-the-Art Technology for Policing

At a recent Dubai Police Conference, state-of-the-art technology for policing was tested and showcased. Facial recognition systems from Chinese companies including Hikvision and Huawei were on display, demonstrating their ability to track the movements of individuals and identify potential criminals. The conference also highlighted the best practices for policing being adopted around the world.

The Future of Policing in the Middle East

The Police Command Center, equipped with live camera feeds and emergency vehicle tracking, allows the police to identify the direction in which a criminal is headed within a minute of committing a crime, with the help of smart cameras and AI-based technology. Tech firm Precite AI in the Emirates is selling products and software popular with Chinese police to local law enforcement agencies.

Dubai has even developed a policing software with the help of engineers, which can assess where thieves might strike next with an accuracy of 68%. While concerns over privacy have been raised, officials have assured the public that the cameras are only being used for monitoring purposes.

In conclusion, the use of smart cameras and AI-based technology is transforming the future of policing in the Middle East. With the ability to detect and track criminal activity in real-time, law enforcement agencies are able to prevent crimes before they even occur, making the streets safer for all.
