Bihar CM Nitish Kumar launches three road projects in Patna



CM Nitish Kumar on June 24 inaugurated three important road projects in Patna, including the 7.4-km-long first phase of the JP Ganga Path from Digha to PMCH. The other two projects inaugurated were the second phase of Atal Path built at the cost of Rs69.55 crore and the Mithapur arm of Kabigahiya rail overbridge (ROB) constructed at the cost of Rs23 crore.

Patna’s Marine Drive constructed from Digha to Didarganj

The 20-km JP Ganga Path, known as Patna’s Marine Drive, is being constructed from Digha to Didarganj cvat a cost of Rs 3,831 crore. Speaking at the event, Nitish expressed his satisfaction and noted that this project had been launched on October 11, 2013, Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan’s birthday. Nitish claimed that RCD officials gave him the assurance that the Digha to Didarganj segment would be finished by the start of 2024. He claimed that the construction on the final stretch of the Ganga Path was proceeding according to plan.

Ease traffic on roads of Patna

The CM also said once the remaining portion of the project becomes ready, it would ease traffic on many roads in the state capital.

Nitish said now people can reach the PMCM from Digha in very less time. Additionally, he claimed that no hospital in the nation will have the same capacity as the PMCH because it was being built to such a large scale. According to the CM, the JP Ganga Path and the Atal Path are now connected. For those travelling to north Bihar, it would be more convenient.

State’s RCD minister Nitin Nabin, Patna Sahib MP Ravi Shankar Prasad, Digha MLA Sanjiv Chaurasiya, chief secretary Amir Subhani also addressed the function.
