Malkhamb Takes the Stage: Reliance Boosts Paris 2024 Olympics!

Reliance Foundation has taken a big step to promote India’s traditional game Malkhamb during the Paris Olympics. Under this, Reliance Foundation is going to Paris on July 22 with 6 children doing Malkhamb, where these children will promote Malkhamb by performing in the India House to be built for the Olympics. Out of the 6 children being taken by Reliance Foundation, 4 are visually challenged, while two are normal, and will get a chance to be a part of India House. All these children are from Samarth Vyayam Mandir and they are being trained by Padmashree-awarded coach Uday Deshpande.

A Showcase of India’s Rich Sporting Culture

Malkhamb will be performed four times a day, 5 days a week during the Paris Olympics. Malkhamb, a traditional Indian game, will be one of the programming highlights during the Olympics that will showcase India’s rich sporting culture. All six children and their coach are very excited about the opportunity to perform at India House during the Paris Olympics and are working hard before that. These children have tremendous enthusiasm and for this, they are very thankful to the Reliance Foundation.

What did the coach say?

The coach said, “This is a big opportunity for us. For that, I have increased the practice of the children. We have intensified our preparation. All 6 children are working hard continuously… This will be a proud moment for us and we will try to make the country proud by giving a tremendous performance. “We are very thankful to Reliance Foundation, Nita Ambani, and India House… Our children have got this opportunity and we are happy and our children will live up to the expectations.”

These 6 players Venkatesh Mandadi, Riddhi Dalvi, Samarth Patil, Anjali Tapal, Komal Patil, and Ajay Lalwani will participate in Malkhamb. Anjali Tapal said, “This is my first foreign tour… We are very happy to have got the opportunity to represent the country… We have intensified our preparations… We are now practicing more than before.

Enthusiasm in children

A student undergoing training said, “I have got a huge opportunity, I am very happy and excited… I have a chance to represent India in the Paris Olympics… I have increased my practice… I come from Boisar. It is 100 km away from Mumbai..needs love and support from the people of the country. Just have to give your best.
