The Metro Railway Kolkata has announced that on May 24 and 25, for the convenience of cricket fans visiting Kolkata for the Indian Premier League (IPL) matches scheduled to be played at Eden Gardens over the next two days, it will provide a special midnight Metro service. “On those days, after the T-20 matches, one pair of additional services (1UP+1DN) will run at 00:00 hrs from Esplanade station towards
Dakshineswar and Kavi Subhash stations,” Metro Railway Kolkata said in a statement.
Special trains will stop at all stations
According to the statement, the booking counters at Esplanade station will only be open for the sale of smart cards and tokens. “These special trains will stop at all stations along the way in both directions,” the statement continued.
The BCCI previously announced that the first Qualifier and Eliminator matches of the IPL 2022 playoffs will be held at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on May 24 and 25, respectively. On Tuesday, the first Qualifier between Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals will begin at 7:30 p.m., followed by the Eliminator between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
