INDIA LEADS THE MEDAL TALLY AT ISSF JUNIOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

After prevailing in Tokyo Olympics, Indian players are now illuminating at the ISSF Junior World Championships. The Indian women’s 25m pistol team won the gold medal at the ISSF Junior World Championships. The event is ongoing in Lima, Peru. The trio of Manu Bhaker, Rhythm Sangwan, and Namya Kapoor won by defeating America’s Abby Russell Leverett, Kellyanne Morgan Abellan, and Ada Claudia Corkhin. In the final match, India defeated the United States by a score of 16-4.

In the Junior World Shooting Championship, Manu Bhaker has so far won three gold medals. Additionally, Adarsh Singh also won a silver medal in the men’s 25m rapid fire pistol event.

Youngest player to win gold

Namya Kapoor Created history by winning the gold medal at the ISSF Junior World Championships. 14-year-old Namya won this medal in the 25m pistol event with a score of 36 points. Shooter Namya Kapoor is a class 9th student. She has become the youngest player in Indian history to win gold at the ISSF Junior World Cup.

India tops medal tally

India has so far won 19 medals including 9 Gold, 7 Silver, and 3 Bronze in the tournament. America is in second place after India with 12 medals, whereas Italy is in third place with 6 medals. This tournament features 370 athletes competing from 32 different countries.
