Unique Initiative for Senior Citizens: New App Launched, Know What’s Special

Initiative for Senior Citizens: The Delhi Police has embarked on a heartwarming initiative to strengthen its bond with the elderly residents of Shahdara. The Senior Citizen Cell of the Shahdara Police has developed a mobile application called “Always with You” (सदैव आपके साथ) to facilitate communication and address the concerns of senior citizens. This app will allow the elderly residents of Shahdara to easily report even the smallest of their complaints to the police.

How Does the App Work?

  1. Complaints Made Easy: Through the app, elderly residents can easily report even minor grievances to the police. Whether it’s a burnt-out streetlight or any other household issue, they can now reach out directly to the authorities.
  2. Tracking Officer Visits: The app also allows tracking of police officer visits. Senior citizens can verify whether officers have addressed their concerns promptly.
  3. Flash Messages from Police: The Delhi Police will send flash messages through the app to keep senior citizens informed about safety tips, emergency numbers, and relevant updates.
  4. Survey Form: The app includes a survey form where senior citizens can provide information about their safety, the local environment, home assistance verification, street lighting, and the presence of CCTV cameras.

Key Features of the App

  1. Tracking Officer Visits: The app will track whether the officers have reached the senior citizens. The police will also send flash messages on the app.
  2. Specially Designed for Shahdara: This app is specifically made for the 5,599 senior citizens living in the Shahdara district.
  3. Multiple Uses: The app can report issues like non-functional streetlights, request police verification for domestic help, and more. It includes a survey form asking questions about security, local environment, verification of domestic help, lighting in the area, CCTV cameras, and more.
  4. Feedback Option: If the Shahdara police visit you and fail to solve your problem, you can give feedback through the app. Emergency contacts, including police, ambulance, beat officers, and the SHO, are also available on the app.
  5. Cyber Security and Health Tips: The app provides information on cyber security and health tips for senior citizens. There is also an option to give feedback on the user experience of the app.

Statement from Shahdara DSP

Surendra Chaudhary, Shahdara DSP, mentioned that the complaints received through the app are taken seriously. Necessary actions will be taken to address any issues identified. The beat staff has visited the homes of senior citizens to explain how to use the app. (Initiative for Senior Citizens)

The app aims to ensure that senior citizens in Shahdara feel safe and supported, providing them with a direct line of communication with the police for any concerns they might have.
