The confluence of spirituality and religion in Mahakumbh 2025 Prayagraj

Next year is the year of Maha Kumbh Mela 2025. The destination is Prayagraj. Here, Mahakumbh will be celebrated from January 13th, 2025, to February 26th, 2025. The preparations and arrangements are in full swing to ensure the pilgrims have safe, clean and spiritual experience.

Know what is Maha Kumbh?

Mahakumbh occurs once every 12 years. It is a deeply spiritual event and one of the biggest festivals in Sanatan. Millions of pilgrims come to bathe in the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna, and Sarasvati rivers to attain salvation (Moksha).

Why only 4 Locations of Kumbh?

According to Hindu mythology, during Samudra Manthan, four drops of nectar fell at four specific locations—  Prayagraj, Haridwar, Ujjain, and Nashik. These drops are believed to have made these places sacred. Therefore, Kumbh is celebrated at only these four places.

Shahi Snan – a royal ritual

On special days, saints from all over and spiritual leaders take a ceremonial dip in the Sangam. It’s believed that these waters cleanse sin and free the individual from the infinite cycle of birth and death.

Pilgrims consider it a privilege to bathe after the saints, as it is believed to enhance their spiritual energy.
