Announcement
The statement was made at Meta’s annual event in India, Fuel For India 2021, which displays Meta’s family of apps’ beneficial impact and socio-economic development.

Bose statement & country’s financial growth
“WhatsApp is devoted to aiding within the acceleration of monetary inclusion within the country”. Villagers adopted ‘payments on WhatsApp’ as a new means of payment, according to preliminary data from the trial programme.

According to the company, everyone from the local grocery store to the beauty parlour, as well as a slew of other individuals and small and medium businesses, are now collecting and receiving payments digitally via ‘payments on WhatsApp.’
