Railways shared pictures of Rail Coach Restaurant started at railway station of MP

Indian Railways has opened another rail coach restaurant at Itarsi Station in Madhya Pradesh, adding to their ‘Restaurant on Wheels’ chain. The Ministry of Railways announced the launch on Twitter and Facebook and shared photos of it.

Key features

‘Restaurant on Wheels’ refers to a proper dining establishment inside a railway coach, as the name implies. ‘Restaurant on Wheels’ is all set to provide customers with a holistic food experience, with bright red exteriors and aesthetic beige-white-brown interiors. The restaurant will be called ‘Ahaar,’ and it will be open to both passengers and the general public.

More such restaurants

On February 26, 2020, Central Railway opened a ‘Restaurant on Wheels’ at Asansol Station in West Bengal. On February 4, 2020, the Nagpur Division of the Central Railway Zone opened another such restaurant at Nagpur railway station in Maharashtra. A ‘Restaurant on Wheels’ can also be found at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus.

All of these restaurants have beautiful interiors and provide diners with a one-of-a-kind experience with North, South, and Continental cuisine. The restaurants are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week for both passengers and the general public.

Food in trains

Aside from that, Indian Railways is constantly improving their food experience in order to make the journey an entirely new experience for the passengers. Food can be ordered not only in advance (while booking the ticket), but also directly from the IRCTC website. Domino’s partnership with Indian Railways has improved train journeys for all foodies out there.
