A day after the assembly election results 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi began his two-day visit to Gujarat. PM Modi addressed a mega event in Ahmedabad city and held a mass roadshow. While addressing the gathering at the ‘Gujarat Panchayat Mahasammelan’ at Ahmedabad, PM Narendra Modi urged elected Panchayati Raj representatives in Gujarat to finish 75 rural upliftment projects by August

15, 2023, when the country will be celebrating 75 years of independence.

“Gujarat is the land of Bapu and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel”

According to Prime Minister Modi, Gujarat is the land of Bapu and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He stated, “Bapu constantly talked about rural development and self-sufficient villages. Today, while we commemorate Amrit Mahotsav, we should realize Bapu’s objective of establishing ‘Gramin Vikas.'”

“75 years of Independence”

PM Modi said that the country is celebrating the Amrit Mahotsav of independence till August 23. During this time, he proposed organizing 75 Prabhat Pheris (morning processions) in the community. PM Modi suggested organizing 75 programs in which the entire village would sit together and discuss the village’s overall progress.

Another suggestion he gave was to form a small forest by planting 75 trees in each village to honor India’s 75th year of independence. Each village should have at least 75 farmers that practice natural farming, he added. PM stated that Mother Earth should be cleansed of the toxins emitted by fertilizers and pesticides.

“75 agricultural ponds to be developed”

According to the Prime Minister, 75 agricultural ponds should be developed in this period. Further, he stated that 75 agricultural ponds should be developed to collect rainwater and raise groundwater levels, which will benefit residents during the summer.

“Panchayat member to visit the village school once a day”

He also urged that no cattle be left unvaccinated in order to prevent them against the contagious Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD). To save energy, the Prime Minister urged Panchayat members to install LED lighting in Panchayat houses and streets.

He also stated that retired government employees should go to the village and celebrate the village’s birthday, during which all of the village’s residents should congregate and discuss the people’s well-being. He asked Panchayat members that a member must visit the village school at least once a day for 15 minutes so that the standard of education and cleanliness may be constantly monitored and maintained.
