Who is in charge of organizing the summit?
The summit was being held in Brest, France, from February 9 to 11, 2022, in collaboration with the World Bank and the United Nations.
The Summit’s Objective
The goal of the One Ocean Summit is to mobilize the worldwide community to take concrete steps to maintain and preserve healthy and sustainable ocean ecosystems.
Ocean Conference of the United Nations
The first edition of this conference took place in New York in June 2017. It aimed to galvanize support for conservation and long-term use of the seas, oceans, and marine resources. “Our oceans, our future: partnering for the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 14” was the theme of the conference. The governments of Fiji and Sweden hosted the meeting.
