An official release stated that over 25,000 outlets under the public distribution system in Jharkhand will serve as common service centres to assist people with various services such as bill payment and applications for PAN cards and passports.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the state food, public distribution, and consumer affairs department and CSC-SPV in order to provide a slew of services to people through PDS dealers.
Consumers can get a variety of electronic services from CSC E-Governance India Ltd (CSC SPV), a special purpose vehicle under the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
Bill payment, application for PAN card, passport, and voter ID, and participation in schemes such as PM-Kisan, Ayushman Bharat, e-SHRAM registration, telemedicine, and a digital literacy campaign will all be available through PDS shops, according to a press release issued on Thursday.
In rural and remote areas of the country, CSCs serve as access points for essential public utility services and social welfare schemes.
