In order to boost the health care sector of Jammu & Kashmir another step has been taken. The government of Jammu and Kashmir has launched the AB-PMJAY SEHAT scheme in close collaboration with the Central Government’s AB-PMJAY scheme. The scheme aims to provide free ‘Universal Health Insurance Coverage’ up to Rs. 5 lakh per family on a floater basis to provide the best and most advanced health care facilities to the people of the state.
Following the successful launch of this scheme, the government has started a massive public outreach program called “One person, One Golden Card”. The outreach program intends to spread awareness regarding the scheme. Also, the program has been started to enroll as many people as possible with the scheme.
‘One person, One Golden card’
The ‘One person, one Golden card’ campaign aims to distribute 58 lakh Golden cards to beneficiaries under the AB-PMJAY and AB-PMJAY-SEHAT health insurance schemes by holding special camps at the Panchayat level. The goal is to serve disadvantaged rural families and provide wider coverage with quick access to affordable healthcare facilities during health emergencies.
‘One person, One Golden card’ ensures 100% saturation
Although the State Health Agency is currently implementing ‘Gaon Gaon Ayushman,’ in which the ‘Golden card’ generation drive is closely monitored right down to the Panchayat level, the ‘One Person One Golden Card’ campaign sets a concrete target for covering the remaining 58 lakh people covered by the scheme. Among the ten points of the campaign, a particular emphasis has been placed on improving the targeted delivery of healthcare plans for the poor and ensuring 100% saturation of eligible beneficiaries in a mission mode.
Ayushman Golden Card
Ayushman Golden Card is given to the beneficiary under the AB-PMJAY SEHAT scheme, which allows them to receive free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh in government and private hospitals selected under the scheme. As far as family size and age are concerned, this health insurance has no restrictions.
SEHAT Scheme
Furthermore, this scheme prioritizes women, children, particularly girls, and individuals over the age of 60. The program allows those in need to receive secondary healthcare from specialists such as cardiologists and urologists. Advanced medical therapy, such as cancer treatment, cardiac surgery, and other procedures, is also covered under the scheme.
