Statement of CM Naveen Pattnaik

“I am glad to provide their rights to newspaper hawkers,” stated Chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik. It’s a first for the country. The hawkers serve as a link between the newspapers and the people who read them. They disregarded their pain and distributed newspapers to the readers, whether it was summer, rain, or cold, and even during the Covid pandemic. The desire for newspapers has not dwindled in the digital age. The CMRF will provide special financial assistance to all hawkers in the amount of Rs.6000. The hawkers would be included in the disorganized Social Security Board and given help in addition to the Covid assistance. Amounts of Rs.1.5 lakh have also been set aside for hawkers who have been permanently incapacitated as a result of accidents. In the event of an accidental death, Rs.2 lakh will be provided; in the event of a natural death, Rs.1 lakh will be granted; and for those who are completely crippled as a result of the accident, Rs 1 lakh will be provided.

I & PR Minister Raghunandan Das stated this.

“This is a fantastic plan. The newspaper peddlers are available all year. They were harmed by the Covid-19 outbreak and experienced numerous issues as a result of the financial downturn. This has been recognised by Chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik, who has granted special cash aid of Rs. 6000 for news paper hawkers. The funds will be sent to a bank account.”
“The social security act will include newspaper hawkers.” They will be eligible for all of the scheme’s advantages. Work sheds would be put up at the district level for the benefit of hackers, and an assistance of Rs 2 lakh will be granted in the event of an accidental fatality “Bishnupada Sethi, PR Principal Secretary, and I agreed.

“It’s out of expression. Naveen Pattnaik, the Chief Minister of Odisha, has made a historic move for the welfare of hawkers’ families. We wish our dear Chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik a long and healthy life ” Pradip Kumar Jena, a hawker, remarked

The state government had already launched a social security system for newspaper hawkers throughout the state. In the event of an accident or natural death, hawkers’ family members will be eligible for financial support under the scheme.
