According to an Indian Railways officer, RPF soldiers have saved 1650 lives from the wheels of running trains at railway stations in the last four years under the “Mission Jeewan Raksha.”
Important information
- Around 350 lives were saved CR and WR as a result of this.
- In the year 2021, RPF personnel saved 601 people without regard for their own safety, going above and above their call of duty.
- WR & CR RPF saved 20 percent of these people (117), while CR and WR saved 83 and 34 respectively.
- In addition, RPF soldiers returned 1,23,777 pieces of luggage worth Rs 23 crores to their respective owners.
- CR and WR RPF personnel returned 1973 pieces of luggage with a total worth of Rs 4.23 crores.
- RPF has also assisted in the reunification of lost or separated children with their families.
- They also rescued about 11,900 children that needed to be cared for and protected.
- RFF rescued 734 of these pupils, while WR rescued 976.

Help Desks for Children
In India, there are now 132 Child Help Desks in operation. Through these aid desks, RPF collaborates with a nominated NGO to rescue children. More than two dozen desks are operational under the authorities of the CR and WR.
Railway Security Force (RPF)
The Railway Protection Force Act of 1957 formed the RPF security force.
It was created to ensure the safety and security of railway property.
In accordance with the Railway Property (Unlawful Possession) Act 1966, the force has been given the authority to search, investigate, arrest, and prosecute offenders. The Ministry of Railways is in charge of the RPF.
