INDIAN-ORIGIN PARAG BECAME THE CEO OF TWITTER, INDIANS HAVE DOMINATED THE WORLD’S BIG COMPANIES IN THE PAST TOO!

Parag Agrawal became CEO of Twitter after Jack Dorsey announced his resignation. The move obviously took several months. There were rumors that the Twitter bulletin board wanted to replace Jack Dorsey with someone else. The search seems to have ended with an internal candidate in the end. Formerly Twitter’s CTO, Parag will take over the role of CEO of the company and take effect immediately.
From CTO to CEO
“Parag Agrawal joined Twitter in 2011 and has served as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) since October 2017. Parag had risen to be Twitter’s first Distinguished Engineer due to his hard and smart work across revenue and consumer engineering, including his impact on the re-acceleration of audience growth in 2016 and 2017.” On 29th November, 2021 Parag Agrawal became the CEO of Twitter.

Who is Parag Agrawal ?
Mumbai born Parag is an alumnus of IIT Mumbai, after completing his bachelor’s in engineering in computer science he moved to the United States for his further studies. He did his schooling from ‘Atomic Energy Central School’. Before joining Twitter he also worked at Microsoft, AT&T and Yahoo.
 In 2005, Parag relocated to the United States. When he was still completing his doctorate at Stanford, he joined Twitter in 2011. According to the New York Times, his thesis adviser Jennifer Widom urged him to finish his studies.

Parag Agrawal, who is named to succeed Twitter founder and CEO Jack Dorsey, is 37 years old, the same age as Meta Platform Inc. CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Twitter wouldn’t unleash Agrawal’s date of birth because of security considerations, however did ensure that he was born later in 1984 than Zuckerberg’s birthday which comes on 14th May.

1. Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google


Sundar Pichai has gone a long way since growing up in a two-room flat in Ashok Nagar, Chennai, to being named the CEO of Google LLC on August 10, 2015. The soft-spoken 46-year-old obtained his B. Tech in Metallurgical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur before winning a scholarship to Stanford University to study material science and semiconductors in physics, where he received his M.S.
Following that, he earned his MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and worked as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company. He joined Google in 2004 and was in charge of product management and innovation for important projects such as Google Chrome OS and Google Drive.

2. Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft


In February 2014, Microsoft appointed Nadella, a 51-year-old father of three children, as its CEO. He has dedicated 22 years of his life to the firm, formerly serving as Executive Vice President of Microsoft’s Cloud and Enterprise Group before being appointed CEO.
The Hyderabad native graduated from Manipal Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. Following that, he earned his master’s degree in computer science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

3. Arvind Krishna, CEO of IBM


Arvind Krishna a well known personality is an Indian-American business executive serving as the Chairman and CEO of International Business Machines Corporation, IBM. He has been the CEO of IBM since April 2020 and serving as a Chairman from January 2021.
