Prime Minister Narendra Modi said today that India and Nepal’s growing friendship and closeness will benefit all of humanity in the new global situation. He also compared the two neighbors’ ties to the Himalayas, which he described as unbreakable. He said it while speaking at the International Buddhist Conference.
At the invitation of his Nepalese counterpart Sher Bahadur Deuba, the PM paid a one-day visit to Lumbini on Buddha Purnima. He offered prayers at the Maya Devi temple and laid the foundation stone for the International Centre for Buddhist Culture and Heritage in Lumbini during his visit. He also met with Deuba on a one-on-one basis.
