A young woman’s grandfather’s untimely death in a road accident led her to embark on a mission to prevent other cyclists from meeting the same fate. In a heartwarming act of kindness, Khushi has installed free red lights on 1,500 cycles to make sure that no one loses a loved one like she did.

The compassionate gesture caught the attention of Indian Administrative Service officer Awanish Sharan, who shared a video on Twitter featuring Khushi’s work. The video shows Khushi holding a placard that reads, “Cycle pe light lagao #Lucknow #Khushi” (Install lights on cycle), as she installs red lights on passing cyclists’ bikes.

A Personal Loss Inspires a Selfless Act

Khushi’s grandfather was hit by a car in 2020 as the driver had not seen him cycling on the road. The tragedy prompted Khushi to take action and ensure that no one else suffers the same fate. She has since installed 1,500 free red lights on cycles, so that cyclists can be seen on the road and avoid accidents.

The video shows Khushi standing by a busy road at night, waving at a cyclist and installing the red light on his cycle. As she switches on the button, the light blinks, and an elderly man is seen patting her head in a gesture of blessing. The text insert in the video highlights Khushi’s mission and states that she wants to make sure that nobody loses a loved one like she did.

A Touching Gesture That Warms Hearts

The heartwarming video has touched the hearts of thousands of people on Twitter. It has garnered over 2.6 lakh views and received an outpouring of appreciation in the comments section. Many users praised Khushi’s selfless act and her dedication to saving lives.

One Twitter user wrote, “She has my heart!!” Another commented, “What a loving granddaughter. Deeply touched.” A third user hailed Khushi’s perspective on life and wrote, “Good to see this perspective of Indian Youth. More power to you.”
Khushi’s compassionate act is a reminder that small gestures of kindness can have a big impact. Her mission to prevent accidents and save lives is a testament to the power of love and empathy.
