A jury led by former Chief Justice of India and former Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission, Justice K.G Balakrishnan, selected and conferred the Champions of Change awards to eminent personalities for promoting the values of courage, community service, and inclusive social development in the state of Telangana at a recent ceremony at the Taj Deccan in Hyderabad.

The Champions of Change award recognize notable individuals and organizations for their outstanding contributions to advancing the ideals of courage, community service, and inclusive social development. The award was created as a tribute to Telangana’s luminaries.

Who were the Awardees?

The awardees included Dr. Nageshwar Reddy – Padma Bhushan Awardee & Indian Gastroenterologist, Sudha Rani Reddy – The Director of the Megha Group of Industries and Trujet Airlines, Joginapally Santosh Kumar – Rajya Sabha MP, Jyotsna Reddy, the Avercurate Group’s Executive Director and CEO, Rameswar Rao Jupally is the founder and chairman of the Hyderabad-based My Home Group of Companies. Dr. Sridhar Peddireddy – Founder and CMD Of Renova Hospitals, PV Sindhu – Padma Bhushan and Indian Badminton Player, Allu Arjun – Indian Telugu Film Actor, Kanhaiyalal Lohiva – Chairman of Lohiya Group, and Komanduri Ramachari – Indian Playback Singer & Music Composer

History of Champians of Change

The Vice-President of India, Shri M Venkaiah Naidu, and Former President of India, Late Shri Pranab Mukherjee, honoured the first two editions of the Champions of Change Awards. N Bien Singh, the Chief Minister of Manipur, and Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti are among the notable honorees of the Champions of Change Awards. Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Union Minister Anurag Thakur, Swami Avdheshanand Giri ji Maharaj, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, Lok Sabha Member Hema Malini, Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam, Swami Chidanand Saraswati ji, Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse Pat (Padma Shri).
