‘BHAVISHYA DRISHTI YUVA SHRISHTI’: INITIATIVE TO HELP STUDENTS IN CHOOSING THEIR CAREER

The district collector of Sarguja in Chhattisgarh has launched an initiative in an attempt to help the youth in choosing their career. The program named, ‘Bhavishya Drishti Yuva Shrishti’ (a vision for the youth’s future) aims to help the students in evaluating their potential while choosing their career.

Guide the students in selecting their career

The initiative aims to guide students via eight student-centered dialogues (samvad) sessions. The project began last year in Surajpur, north Chhattisgarh, and has since assisted over 2,500 students in evaluating their career possibilities and making the right decisions based on their particular capabilities and priorities.

Aims to help youth build a better future

A meaningful ‘dialogue’ (samvad) was launched by Singh, a 2013-batch IAS officer, not only to groom the youth to nurture all-around growth in a transition phase of their careers but also to prompt the teachers’ response to formulate academic action plans.

“We attempt to assist students in developing their appropriate guidelines and precepts to achieve their objectives. Mentoring children at the appropriate age is important. We need to help them realize their potential and trust in their abilities. Their personality development is also a priority,” the collector added.

The session between the children and teachers

The program begins with a ‘Yuva Samvad’ between the children, collector Gaurav Singh and his team of senior officials. The collector, district police head, CEO, and administrative officials interact with the students and teachers during weekly ‘Prerna (motivation) Samvad’ in schools or colleges.

Youth-friendly interactions

The interactive sessions are youth-friendly and allow for a healthy exchange of ideas,” Sunita Rajwade, a Ramanujnagar Class 12 student, remarked. Several students have had great interactions with the Collector for the first time. The students also learned about the digital revolution, which has a lot of career opportunities. Youths are also informed about various welfare schemes and how to access them in the district.
