Indian Railways has announced the commencement of the Bharat Gaurav trains, a theme-based tourist circuit train. The Indian Railways has chosen to run 190 Bharat Gaurav trains as part of a public-private partnership. More than 3,000 train carriages have been identified for this purpose.
These are special trains
These are not ordinary trains that run according to a schedule, according to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. He further said, for these theme-based trains, we have identified 3,033 rail coaches, or 190 trains. Following the passenger and goods train segments, he stated that the government is now beginning the tourist component for Bharat Gaurav trains. These trains will showcase India’s culture and traditions.
15 stakeholders, including various tourism industry enterprises, state government tourism boards, and IRCTC, have expressed interest in operating Bharat Gaurav trains, according to the Railway Minister. This strategy was developed following significant engagement with over a thousand stakeholders.
Ramayana Circuit Train, First Bharat Gaurav Train
According to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Ramayana Circuit Train is being run as the first example of Bharat Gaurav trains. Aside from that, the special train has themes on various aspects of Indian culture and tradition, such as Shivaji Circuit, Durg Circuit, Jyotirling Circuit, Jungle Safari Circuit, Jagannath Circuit, South Indian Temple Circuit, Guru Kripa Circuit to visit Sikh Gurus’ sites, and so on. There are proposals to create special tourist trains based on the theme.
Amenities for passengers
Train operators are being offered lucrative reductions for Bharat Gaurav trains, according to the Railway Minister. The tour operators have been asked to produce a full package of low-cost, high-quality tours that include all aspects of travel and excursion, including meal, cab, accommodation, admission fee, guide, and so on. He also stated that the operator would have the ability to set the per capita pricing in the package, but that the Railways will have the power to interfere if there is a disagreement.
How will be the look of ‘Bharat Gaurav Train’
The Railway Minister said that the train can have often 12 to twenty coaches of various categories for passengers like luxury, budget etc. The operator are going to be allowed to form all necessary changes within the coaches per the theme, interior decoration and installation of branding and advertisement both inside and outdoors the train.
One step easy transparent online registration process has been prescribed for Bharat Gaurav train and therefore the registration fee has been fixed at only 1 lakh rupees. The allotment of coaches to all or any eligible applicants is subject to availability.
