Why in news ?
The Army Secure Indigenous Messaging Tool (ASIGMA) is a new generation, state-of-the-art, web-based application, according to a statement released by the defence ministry . It was developed in-house by a team of Corps of Signals officers, according to the statement.
The technology is being used to replace the Army Wide Area Network messaging application, which has been in use for 15 years, according to the ministry.
Who is the creator of the ASIGMA App?

The ASIGMA App

“The application (ASIGMA) has been deployed on Army-owned hardware and is designed to be upgraded in the future. According to the statement, “the customized messaging application fits all futuristic user needs and boasts an increased user experience.”
The application will suit the army’s real-time data transfer and messaging requirements, according to the ministry, especially in light of the current geopolitical-security climate. It further stated that the software supports the government’s Make in India agenda.
