The Padma Awards, among India’s highest civilian honors, come in three categories: Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri. These awards acknowledge exceptional contributions in fields like art, social work, public affairs, science, engineering, sports, literature, education, and more.
The government has chosen to honor 132 individuals with Padma Awards this year, including five Padma Vibhushan, 17 Padma Bhushan, and an impressive 110 Padma Shri awardees. Notably, 30 of these recipients are remarkable women who have made significant contributions to their respective fields.
