HIGHLIGHTS:

• Eyes are one of the important organs of the body
• Maintain the health of your eyes in these easy steps

Our eyes are an extremely important set of organs that plays vital role in our lives. Never take them for granted, and get medical attention if you have any vision problems. According to research, eating a well-balanced diet and getting lots of exercise are beneficial to your eyes. To maintain your eyes healthy, use these simple and effective procedures on a daily basis.

1. Get enough sleep and give rest to your eyes

Allow your eyes to rest because they are continually active while you are awake. Even when you’re just relaxing, your eyes are working. Eye fatigue can be caused by a lack of sleep. Irritation, difficulty focusing, dryness or excessive tears, fuzzy vision, light sensitivity, or neck and shoulder pain are some of the symptoms. Every night,an adult require 7-8 hours of sleep.

2. Sunglasses with UV protection

When you’re out in the sun, wear UV-protective sunglasses . Make sure your sunglasses’ lenses are guaranteed to prevent 99 percent to 100 percent of UVA and UVB radiation. Even if you’re wearing UV sunglasses, avoid staring straight at the sun. Children require the same level of protection from the sun as adults. So make sure they’re wearing caps and sunglasses that are appropriate for the weather.

3. Maintain a safe distance between you and your monitor

Monitors and screens should be placed at a distance of about an arm’s length from your eyes and 20 degrees below eye level. While working on your system, make sure there is enough diffused illumination in the space. Your eyes are more likely to be stressed by focused lighting or very bright lights. While working, try not to strain your eyes in any way.

4. The rule of 20-20-20

Follow the 20-20-20 guideline if you want to keep your eyes healthy. Look away from your computer about every 20 minutes and fix your gaze on somewhere 20 feet away. To avoid dryness, blink 20 times in a row. Get up and walk 20 steps every 20 minutes. Taking a break from the screen allows your eyes to rest and improves your posture.

5. Get your eyes checked regularly

Regular eye exams are necessary to safeguard your eyesight that allows you to see best; you never know what can arise. It’s especially vital if you wear glasses to maintain your power up to date. Have your eyes inspected on a regular basis to rule out any disorders. You can begin therapy right away if a sickness is detected early.
