Kisan Mitra Yojana Benefits: Trees and plants have great importance in our lives. They also play an important role in environmental protection. Kisan Vriksha Mitra Yojana has been started in Chhattisgarh to promote tree plantation and environmental protection.
Kisan Vriksha Mitra Yojana
The CG government of Chhattisgarh has also changed the name of Mukhyamantri Vriksha Sampada Yojana to Kisan Vriksha Mitra Yojana. Its main objective is to bring greenery by planting trees on the vacant lands of farmers so that along with environmental protection, the increasing level of pollution can be reduced.
Steps towards environmental protection
pollution in the energy capital Korba is continuously increasing. Greenery is disappearing due to industrialization. In such a situation, tree plantation is done on a large scale every year for the protection and conservation of the environment. This time also the Forest Department has started the exercise of plantation on the vacant lands of farmers.
More than 5 lakh saplings will be planted
There are preparations to plant 5 lakh 300 saplings under the Kisan Vriksha Mitra Scheme in the district. Under the scheme, forest division offices have been targeted for plantation. This time too, Korba and Katghora forest divisions have been given targets under the Kisan Vriksha Mitra Scheme. The target is to plant 5 lakh 300 saplings in the Korba forest region. Departmental officials had already started efforts to achieve this goal.
A large plot of land will become a green zone
Every year the Forest Department converts a large plot of land into a green zone. Many medicinal plants like Mahua and Amla have been grown in the nursery of the Forest Department. There is a plan to plant more than 5 lakh saplings in the Korba district alone during the rainy season so that along with reducing pollution, oxygen can be provided to the biodiversity.
A Three-Year Journey Ahead
A provision for giving incentive amounts has been made in the Kisan Vriksha Mitra Scheme. Farmers will have to make all the preparations for the plantation. Saplings will be available free of cost from the forest department. On completion of the plantation, an amount of Rs 10 per plant will be deposited in the farmer’s account. This process will continue for the next three years. The special thing is that every time the amount will be provided after deduction based on the number of living plants. The more plants survive, the more incentives farmers will get from the government.
Positive Takeaway
A target has been set for plantation on a total of 37 hectares of land in Korba Forest Division. There is a plan to plant 5 lakh 300 saplings under the Kisan Vriksha Mitra Yojana. As of now, 740 farmers of 6 ranges of Korba Forest Division have given their consent.
