How JEE Main 2024 Works
The JEE Main 2024 exam took place in two sessions: January and April. Over 24 lakh students registered for both sessions combined. The exam was conducted across 319 cities in India and 22 cities abroad. Candidates answered questions in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Correct answers earned four marks, while incorrect responses resulted in negative marking. Unanswered or flagged questions did not earn any marks.
Eligibility for JEE Advanced
The top 2.5 lakh qualifiers from JEE Main 2024 are eligible to register for the JEE Advanced Exam. Successful candidates in JEE Advanced can then apply for courses at Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and other centrally funded colleges across the nation.

Candidates can access their JEE Main 2024 scorecards via email. For those who cleared the exam, applications for JEE Advanced 2024 can be submitted starting April 27, 2024. To be eligible for JEE Advanced, candidates must be among the top 2,50,000 successful candidates in the B.E./B.Tech. paper of JEE Main 2024, encompassing all categories.
