Promotes sustainable future

The Best CSR and Sustainability Initiative award recognises business schools that are leading the charge to build a more sustainable future, teach students about social values, and make a tangible and verifiable difference. It provides an opportunity for schools to showcase their innovative and unique CSR and sustainability initiatives on a global scale.

Only Indian business school to be shortlisted

For its environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) initiatives, the institute was awarded Silver. The awards were given out in ten different categories. In this category, IIM Indore is the only Indian business school that has been shortlisted. It is one of three business schools in the country that has been shortlisted for the Excellence Awards 2022.

IIM Indore has also recently received the Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education’s One District One Green Champion Award, making it the cleanest and greenest educational institute in the district.

Promotes environmental friendly initiatives

In the IIM Indore campus, Solar panels have been installed on various buildings throughout the 193-acre campus, lowering electricity use. It uses kitchen waste to make manure on campus, adhering to the no-kitchen-waste policy.

This manure is then utilized to cultivate vegetables and fruits in the campus’s Organic Garden. The Institute has a rain-harvesting system in place to collect wastewater and utilize it for things like gardening and cleaning.

Sanjeevani, IIM Indore’s Horticulture Cell, produces plants and medications that are provided to the destitute and patients in surrounding hospitals. In addition, the Institute shelters over 35 stray dogs, maintains their adequate feeding and health, and takes initiatives for their adoption.
