In order to meet the state’s goal of creating 10 lakh jobs, the Bihar cabinet approved a proposal to create 75543 vacancies for cops across various categories. The cabinet has approved a total of 13 proposals.
According to additional chief secretary S Siddharth, the cabinet has approved the creation of 7808 posts for the first phase of the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) Dial 112, of both police and non-police cadre.
To meet the needs of the state’s growing population, the Bihar government has decided to increase the strength of the police force by making direct police appointments on 48447 posts. “The cabinet has also approved 19288 ERSS phase 2 recruitment positions,” the additional chief secretary said.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar stated during the closing ceremony of Police Week on February 27, 2022, that the state government aimed to increase the number of policemen in the state from 165 to 170 per one lakh population.
