Oppo, Vivo, Samsung, and Xiaomi, among others, have already released a few versions, with many more on the way. However, there is some good news in the world of mobile phone manufacturing.
Over 200 units, currently producing cellular mobile phones
As India strives to become a worldwide hub for electronics manufacturing, it has surpassed other countries to become the world’s second largest manufacturer of mobile devices, according to Niti Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant.
According to Kant, over 200 units now produce cellular mobile phones, up from only two units in 2014. Furthermore, from 6 crore mobile phones in 2014-15 to almost 30 crore mobile phones in 2020-21, production has increased significantly.
2nd Volume of the Vision Document
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology recently released the 2nd Volume of the Vision Document on Electronics Manufacturing to ensure that these achievements are put to good use. A five-year roadmap and vision for the electronics industry are included in the publication.

Collaborated with ICEA
The document, titled “$300 billion in Sustainable Electronics Manufacturing and Exports by 2026,” was released by the government in collaboration with ICEA.
This research includes a year-by-year breakdown and output predictions for the key items that would help India shift from a USD75 billion electronics manufacturing powerhouse to a USD300 billion electronics manufacturing powerhouse.
Document contains a five-year roadmap
According to figures released by the government, mobile manufacturing is predicted to reach USD100 billion in annual production, up from USD30 billion now, and mobile manufacturing is expected to account for approximately 40% of this rise.
As per the ministry’s estimates, mobile manufacturing will surpass USD100 billion in yearly production, up from USD30 billion now, and will account for approximately 40% of this increase. Over the following five years, the domestic market is predicted to grow from USD65 billion to US$180 billion. Electronics will be one of India’s top 2-3 exports by 2026 as a result of this.
