What is in the News?
Festival of Independence also known as Azadi Ke Amrit Mahotsav. Swarnim Bharat ke Ore is a Hindi phrase that means ”towards Golden India.” “Azadi ka Amrit to Golden India” is the title of the programme. On January 20, 2022, the programme began. PM Modi was the one who initiated it.
Concerning the programme
It is the culmination of the Brahma kumaris’ year-long festivities of azadi ke amrit. 15000 events and 30 campaigns will be conducted as part of the effort. Ricky Reyes, a Grammy Award winner, will perform a song in honour of the occasion. The events will take place in hospitals and medical schools. It will be centred on health, spirituality, and nutrition. There will also be doctor conferences for cancer screenings, and medical camps.
There are seven initiatives
During the programme, the Prime Minister announced the following initiatives:
- Mera Bharat Swasth Bharat green initiatives
- Atma Nirbhar Bharat’s self-sufficient farmer initiatives
- India’s flag bearers are women.
- “Undiscovered India” is the subject of a bicycle rally.
- Motor bike campaign on “Unite India”
- Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Swachh Bharat Abhiyan) initiatives
Brahmakumaris
It is a religious organisation with its headquarters in Mount Abu. It is committed to both global and personal rejuvenation. It was founded in 1937. The organisation today has a presence in over 130 countries.
Initiatives to help farmers become more self-sufficient
75 farmer empowerment projects, 75 yogic farmer training programmes that are sustainable, and 75 farmer conferences
Peace Bus campaign
There will be 75 cities covered. It will demonstrate the youth’s positive transformation.
Cycle Rally
It will take place at various heritage locations. It will concentrate on the relationship between the environment and cultural heritage.
Motor bike Campaign
It will be held halfway between Mount Abu and Delhi. It will cover a number of cities.
Swachh Bharat (Clean India)
It consists of a public awareness campaign, a cleaning drive, and community cleaning projects.
Importance
