Who is the richest women in India, others woman billionaires in the list



Forbes India has released the India Rich List for 2022. According to the List, Savitri Jindal, chairperson of the Jindal Group, is the richest woman in India, with a net worth of $16.4 billion. She is also the president of Maharaja Agrasen Medical College, Agroha. In 2022, nine Indian women were added to the global rich list. Falguni Nayar, founder of 
Nykaa and one of the country’s wealthiest self-made billionaires, is also on the list. According to Forbes data, Nayar is the 44th richest person in the world, with a net worth of $4.8 billion following a successful IPO (Initial Public Offering).

In India, women billionaires were largely from the manufacturing sectors, among others.

Here’s the list of other Indian women on the Forbes Billionaires List 2022:

Vinod Rai Gupta (Manufacturing)

Vinod Rai Gupta, who runs Havells India with her son Anil Rai Gupta, is ranked 27th with a net worth of Rs 50,881.32 crore. Vinod’s husband, the late Qimat Rai Gupta, founded the company in 1958 and the company makes everything from electrical and lighting fixtures to fans, refrigerators and washing machines.

Rekha Jhunjhunwala (Finance and Investments)

After her husband, Big Bull Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, died in August 2022, Rekha Jhunjhunwala took his place on India’s Rich List. At number 30 on the Forber 100 richest Indians list, her net worth is Rs 47,650.76 crore. Her portfolio includes – Titan, Star Health and Allied Insurance, and Metro Brands.

Falguni Nayar, founder of beauty and fashion retailer Nykaa, debuted on the ‘India’s 100 Richest 2022’ list, ranking 44th. According to the list, Nayar, a former banker who became India’s richest self-made woman after listing Nykaa, has a net worth of Rs $4.09 billion (Rs 32,951.71 crore).

Leena Tiwari (Healthcare)

Chairperson of privately held USV India, which acquired German generics firm Juta Pharma for an undisclosed sum in 2018, Tiwari’s net worth is Rs 30,205.74 crore.

Divya Gokulnath (Technology)

Divya Gokulnath is an Indian entrepreneur and educator. In 2011, Gokulnath and Byju Raveendran co-founded the edtech company BYJU’s. The couple’s net worth is Rs 29,075.04 crore.

Mallika Srinivasan (Manufacturing)

Mallika Srinivasan is an Indian industrialist and is the Chairman and Managing Director of Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited, a tractor major incorporated in 1960 at Chennai, India. She is also the Chairperson of the Public Enterprises Selection Board constituted by the Government of India. She has a net worth of $3.4 billion

Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw (Health care)

Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, the first-generation entrepreneur and executive chairperson of Biocon, has been awarded the Padma Shri and the Padma Bhushan. Shaw’s net worth is Rs 21,806.28 crore (2.7 billion).

Anu Aga (Construction & Engineering)

After 2014, Anu Aga returns to India’s Richest List in 2022. With a net worth of $2.23 billion Anu Aga is an Indian billionaire businesswoman and social worker who led Thermax, an energy and environment engineering business, as its chairperson from 1996 to 2004.

Meanwhile, Gautam Adani, chairman of Adani Group, has topped Forbes India’s 100 richest list in 2022, after his wealth more than doubled this year. The 60-year-old Indian businessman surpassed Mukesh Ambani, the chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), with a net worth of USD 150 billion.

Despite concerns about the rupee’s depreciation and global inflation, the wealth of India’s top 100 richest increased by $25 billion to reach $800 billion, according to the list.
