New Railway Ticket Booking System Rules Benefit General Ticket Holders

There is some good news for those who travel by train frequently. Passengers quite often have to wait in long queues to purchase train tickets. The Railways, however, have changed the rules for ticket booking in order to eliminate this. As a result of this change, the Railway Ministry has increased the distance covered for booking unreserved tickets via the app.

Passengers’ Time will be Saved

You can now book tickets even if you live a long distance from the station where your journey begins. Passengers who take advantage of this discount on unreserved tickets will save time. Passengers will no longer have to queue to purchase tickets. Until now, you could book unreserved tickets from up to 2 kilometres away from the departure station via the app.

Change Made for This Reason

When you are two kilometres away from the station, the mobile network frequently disappears. As a result, even if passengers wanted to, they couldn’t book train tickets. For this reason, this distance has now been increased from 2 km to 20 km by the ministry.
