

The Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, through its Centre for Open Learning (CFOL) initiative, the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), and the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) have announced two free courses for people with disabilities as part of the 53rd International Film Festival of India, which will be held in Goa from November 20 to 28.
At IFFI 53, there will be a basic course in smartphone filmmaking for people with Autism, as well as a basic course in screen acting for people in wheelchairs.
FTII has been conducting a variety of courses to empower persons with disabilities to participate and excel in the magic of cinema, with the goal of ensuring that the process of creating art becomes accessible to all.
8 days course at IFFI 53
The courses at IFFI 53 will last 8 days, from November 21 to November 28. One course aims to shape participants into modern-day auteurs, while the other aims to bring out their inner actors.
According to officials, Ajmal Jami, a renowned professional in the field of visual communication, will teach the basic course in smartphone film making for individuals with autism. He has received numerous awards in a variety of fields, including reporting from war zones and conflict zones, documentaries, promotional films, soft features, and shows. As a Cinematographer, Filmmaker, and Photographer, he has worked on prestigious projects for national and international organisations.
The course will include several modules, ranging from an introduction to cinematic language to smartphone shooting and editing. At the end of the module, there will be a screening and review session.
