Foundation stones for 17 development projects laid by Himachal govt at Palampur

On September 13, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 17 development projects worth approximately Rs 42 crore in Palampur in Palampur assembly constituency of Kangra district.

During a public meeting, he stated that his government faced an uphill task in combating the coronavirus pandemic while maintaining the current rate of development.

He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not only motivating the country’s scientists to develop a vaccine against this virus, but also for successfully launching the world’s largest free vaccination campaign.

He added that history would remember how a strong leadership during the pandemic successfully sailed the country out of the testing times of the pandemic.

He stated that schemes such as HIMCARE, Sahara Yojna, Mukhya Mantri Grihini Suvidha Yojna, Mukhya Mantri Swabalamban Yojna, Mukhya Mantri Shagun Yojna, and others have assisted every needy household. He said that social security pension has been enhanced considerably and age limit has been lowered for availing old age pension without income criteria first from 80 years to 70 years and now further reduced to 60 years.

He claimed that Rs 13,00 crore was spent on providing social security pensions to the needy, compared to Rs 400 crore spent by the previous Congress government.

He stated that his government not only provided women with a 50% fare concession on HRTC buses, but it also decided to provide 125 units of free power to domestic consumers. He also stated that rural water customers would receive free drinking water.

He found it strange that Congress leaders were now making various promises that they would also provide free power if elected.

He remarked that a political party that did not have its own guarantee was providing ten guarantees.
