PM Modi to visit Haryana and Punjab to inaugurate two health initiatives on Aug 24



On August 24, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Haryana and Punjab to inaugurate two hospitals in each state. The Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation Amrita Hospital in Faridabad, Haryana, and the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh.

In the morning, the Prime Minister will dedicate Amrita Hospital, and in the afternoon, he will travel to Mohali to dedicate the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar District.

PM in Haryana

The Prime Minister will open Amrita Hospital in Faridabad at 11 a.m., increasing the availability of modern medical infrastructure in the National Capital Region (NCR).

Mata Amritanandamayi Math will run the hospital. The super-speciality hospital, which is expected to cost around Rs. 6000 crores, will have 2600 beds. The hospital will provide cutting-edge healthcare to the people of Faridabad and the entire NCR region.

PM in Punjab

At 2:15 p.m., the Prime Minister will dedicate the ‘Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre’ to the nation in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar District (Mohali).

Tata Memorial Centre built the hospital at a cost of over Rs. 660 crore in order to provide world-class cancer care to residents of Punjab and neighbouring states and UTs.

The centre is an aided institute of the Government of India’s Department of Atomic Energy.

The cancer hospital has a 300-bed capacity and is equipped with modern facilities to treat all types of cancers using all available treatment modalities such as surgery, radiotherapy, and medical oncology – chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and bone marrow transplant.

The hospital will serve as a “hub” for cancer care and treatment in the region, with the 100-bed hospital in Sangrur serving as a “spoke.”
