ByHeart: New Moms Should Hear Mindy Kaling’s Inspiring Advice

Mindy Kaling recently opened up about her breastfeeding difficulties. She also delivered an encouraging message to new mothers. Mindy Kaling, star of The Office, is a mother of two who uses social media to share relevant and engaging content. Keeping with the trend, she recently shared a video for ByHeart’s Dear New Parents campaign. In the video, she discussed mom’s guilt through the lens of her own personal experience. She admitted that supplementing her milk had harmed her mental health.

“When I had my kids, I always assumed I would breastfeed. So when I needed to supplement my milk supply, I felt total guilt, and panic, and ultimately spent way too much time in a frantic, late-night internet spiral. I’m joining ByHeart in their mission to demystify feeding for new parents and show that there’s no wrong choice, we just need more guidance and clarity. Dear New Parents – drop the guilt when it comes to feeding! You’re doing great. I challenge all of you to share something you wish you knew but no one told you about,” she penned in her caption.

Check out the list below to choose the perfect formula for your infant:

Formulas based on soy:

Consider soy-based formulas if you want to keep animal proteins out of your child’s diet. It’s also a good option for babies who are lactose intolerant or allergic to cow’s milk formula.

Formulas based on cow milk protein:

Several infant formulas are made with cow’s milk that has been modified to look like breast milk. As a result, this formula has an optimal nutritional balance and is also easier to digest. Most newborns do well on cow’s milk formula. Some newborns, however, require different formulas because they are allergic to the proteins in cow’s milk.

Protein hydrolsate formulas:

These formulas contain protein that has been partially or thoroughly broken down (hydrolyzed) into smaller sizes than those found in formulas made with cow’s milk and soy. This formula is particularly made for infants who are allergic to soy or cow milk.
