Mumbai Police launch initiative to reunite missing children with families

The Mumbai Police Department will soon launch a programme to reunite missing or abducted children with their families. The ‘Operation Reunited’ will begin on August 15, the country’s 75th Independence Day, and will last until September 15, according to an official on August 8.

To ensure the success of the initiative, the city police have asked citizens for assistance in locating missing and abducted children, he said.

During the month-long exercise, police will also look for the parents of such children and assist them in reuniting with their families, according to the official.

The police have also asked people to call them on helpline numbers 100 or 1098 if they see any suspicious children, people begging on railway stations, bus stops, and roads, or people rag-picking, he said.
