Indian Navy received 2 MH 60R multi-role helicopters from US



On July 28, the Indian Navy received two MH 60R multi-role helicopters from the US at Cochin International Airport. The helicopters were delivered by the US Air Force’s Special Air Assignment Mission Flight.

The helicopters were among the 24 MH 60 R Multirole helicopters purchased by India from the United States for more than 14,000 crore rupees. The first three helicopters delivered in the United States last year for delivery in 2021 are being used to train the Indian Navy crew. Another helicopter is expected to arrive on August 22.

The first tranche of MH 60R helos were received by IndianNavy at KochiAirport with the traditional welcome ceremony. Delivery of all 24 MH 60R helicopters will be completed by 2025.

The induction of state of the art mission capable platforms will significantly boost the integral ASW capability of indiannavy.

“The delivery of all the 24 MH 60 R multirole helicopters will be completed by 2025. The induction of these helicopters will significantly boost the integral Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) capability of the Indian Navy,”said the Indian Navy officials.
