Kashi Yatra Subsidy Scheme: Now everyone can visit Kashi, govt unveiled Rs 5,000 subsidy

On July 14, Basavaraj Bommai, the chief minister of Karnataka, officially introduced the Rs 5,000 “Kashi Yatra” subsidy programme by handing out checks to the pilgrims. The Muzrai Department prepared a brief ceremony at Vidhana Soudha where the checks were presented.

Kashi is a major pilgrimage site that evokes the people’s spiritual faith. Previously, pilgrims had very few facilities and amenities. It has now been completely transformed. Varanasi is served by direct air, rail, and bus connections,” he stated.

“As a result, the number of pilgrims visiting Kashi has increased dramatically. We are distributing subsidy cheques for ten pilgrims today. It would be transferred directly through the DBT system for pilgrims in the coming days,” Bommai stated.

“The Ganga’s banks have been cleaned. Approximately 23 Ghats have been renovated. The Kashi Vishwanath Corridor was designed so that pilgrims could walk directly from the Ganga Ghats to the Vishwanath Temple. I congratulate Prime Minister Modi on his excellent work,” Karnataka Chief Minister stated.

According to Bommai, the state government has made arrangements for a secure and comfortable journey by separate train as well as lodging amenities in Kashi to make the pilgrimage a safe and enjoyable experience. This is in addition to offering a Rs 5,000 subsidy.

More About Kashi Yatra Scheme 2022

Every year, pilgrims visit to the Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi. Residents of Karnataka also visit the Varanasi temple, but many find it difficult to do so due to economic constraints. Approximately 1700 kilometres separate Karnataka from Varanasi, making it an extremely long trip. Residents of Karnataka who participate in the protracted Kashi Yatra have severe financial difficulties, much like the poor.

As a result, the government came up with the idea to provide each of the 30,000 pilgrims a subsidy of Rs. For yatris, this seven-crore dollar enterprise is a once-in-a-lifetime chance. The Kashi Yatra excursion is only available to interested pilgrims, according to the Karnataka State Government. Visitors must submit the required papers to the appropriate department together with their tickets, travel pictures, and receipts from their visit as confirmation of their attendance at the temple.
