Biography of Albert Einstein: Albert Einstein was born in Ulm, Wurttemberg, Germany, on March 14, 1879. He created the special and general theories of relativity as a physicist. Albert Einstein was a theoretical physicist best known for establishing the theory of relativity and photoelectric phenomena. For his work on the photoelectric effect, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1921.

Early Life, Education, Marriage, Children, and Teaching Career of Albert Einstein

He was born in Ulm, Württemberg, Germany, on March 14, 1879, to a secular, middle-class Jewish family. Hermann Einstein was his father, while Pauline Koch was his mother. His father was a featherbed dealer who eventually went on to run a moderately successful electrochemical manufacturer. Maria Einstein was Albert Einstein’s only sibling. His family relocated to Munich, where he attended the Luitpold Gymnasium. His parents afterwards shifted to Italy, where he continued his schooling in the Swiss town of Arau. In 1896, he enrolled at the Swiss Federal Polytechnic School in Zurich. He received his training as a physics and maths teacher there. Albert received his diploma and became a Swiss citizen in 1901. He didn’t receive the teaching job at the time, but he did gain a job as a technical assistant at the Swiss Patent
Office. In 1905, he earned his doctorate.

Two wonders that deeply affected him

Two wonders strongly affected Albert Einstein in his early years, he wrote . His first experience was with the compass. He was five years old at the time. He was perplexed that the needle may be deflected by unseen forces. The second occurred when, he was of 12, he discovered a geometry book and dubbed it as “sacred little geometry book.”

When he had spare time, he worked in the Swiss Patent Office, where he produced much of his incredible work. In 1908, he was appointed Privatdozent in Berne. In 1909, he was appointed Professor
Extraordinary at Zurich, and in 1911, he was appointed Professor of Theoretical Physics at Prague. He returned to Zurich the next year to take up a similar position.

In 1914, he was also named Director of the Kaiser Wilhelm Physical Institute and Professor of Physics at the University of Berlin. He became a German citizen in 1914 and lived in Berlin until 1933. He became a citizen of the United States in 1940 and left his post in 1945.

In 1903, Albert Einstein married Mileva Maric. The couple has two sons and a daughter. They divorced in 1919. Albert married his cousin Elsa Lowenthal in the following year, and she died in 1936.

On the occasion of Albert Einstein’s birthday, here are some fascinating facts about his life:

1. Albert Einstein was born in Germany, but he did not spend much time there. He spent time in Italy, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic. Albert Einstein never returned to Germany after relocating to the United States.
2. After his father gave him a compass as a child, Albert Einstein became fascinated with physics.
3. At the age of 16, Albert Einstein published his first paper, which was inspired by his compass.
4. Albert Einstein struggled with language and other courses, so he dropped out of school when he was 15 years old. He did, however, excel in Mathematics, Physics, and Philosophy.
5. Albert Einstein first started to teach students mathematics and physics , then moved to obtain his Ph.D. after failing to find work.
