CHHATTISGARH GOVERNMENT HAS STARTED “KAUSHALYA MATERNITY SCHEME”, WOMEN WILL GET 5,000 RUPEES

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • The ‘Kaushalya Matritva Yojana’ was introduced by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel
  • Women would receive Rs 5000 in cash help if they have a second girl child under this scheme
  • The Chief Minister also unveiled the ‘Kanya Vivah Yojana’ Coffee Table Book, as well as pamphlets for women’s empowerment programmes

The ‘Kaushalya Matritva Yojana’ was introduced by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. At a state-level gathering, five women beneficiaries were also awarded cheques of Rs 5,000 each for safe motherhood.

  • Women would receive Rs 5000 in cash help if they have a second girl child under this scheme.
  • The Chief Minister also unveiled the ‘Kanya Vivah Yojana’ Coffee Table Book, as well as pamphlets for women’s empowerment programmes and the Sakhi One Stop Center Telephone Directory.
  • This programme was also created to address the issue of women’s economic involvement being behind that of men.
  • The state government had previously launched initiatives such as ‘Mahila Madai,’ which assisted women in the state in preparing various goods at gauthans.
  • Women in Chhattisgarh will generate electricity and paint from cow dung. It will increase women’s income and generate new job opportunities. Gauthans are being developed by the state into rural industrial parks.
  • The Chhattisgarh government waived Rs 13 crore in Self-Help Group loans and quadrupled their credit limits through Mahila Kosh on the occasion of ‘Teeja-Pora.’

Felicitations at this event

The Chief Minister honoured authorities who have done outstanding work in the area of women’s protection through the ‘Nava Bihan Yojana’ and the ‘Sakhi One Stop Center.’

Anganwadi employees who performed admirably in the Anganwadi services, as well as self-help groups that played a critical part in empowering women in the state and enabling them to take advantage of the Chhattisgarh Mahila Kosh initiatives, were also honoured.
