Launch of JOSAA Website; All You Need to Know About IIT, IIIT, and NIT Admission Process

The website for e-counselling services for admission to engineering colleges has been launched just weeks after the release of the JEE Main 2022 results. Students who have passed the JEE Main engineering entrance exam will be able to register with the Joint Seat Allocation Authority – JoSAA.

The common platform will be used to distribute seats to top engineering schools. JoSAA enrols students at 114 institutes, including 23 IITs, 31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIITs, and 33 other-Government-funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs).

JoSAA counselling will take place in six rounds. Following the completion of JoSAA-2022 counselling, if any seats remain vacant in the NIT+ system (excluding IIT seats), two special rounds known as CSAB-Special Rounds will be held.

While the Josaa schedule has yet to be released. Last year, on October 16, the registration window for the first round of the counselling process opened. A similar plan is expected to be implemented this year.

Those who pass the engineering entrance exam must first register in order to participate in the counselling process.

Students will have to make decisions about which colleges and courses to attend. A list will be published based on both choice and merit. Students will then have the option of selecting or freezing the assigned seat, or they can float it or let it go and wait for the next list. There will be a total of six rounds.

Those who select a seat will have to pay fee fee, report to the respective college for document verification and save their seat.
