Special supply to Rashtrapati Bhavan every year!

Meet Maiti brothers – Masters of rose world loved globally

In the heart of West Bengal, there exists a charming village that boasts over 3,000 species of roses. Amongst these vibrant blooms, one can find the secret behind the roses adorning Rashtrapati Bhavan (the Presidential Residence) and spreading their fragrance across ten different countries.

Meet the Maiti Brothers

Behind this flourishing rose garden are the talented Maiti Brothers, Pranabir and Ashok. With a deep-rooted passion for roses, they have cultivated a legacy that extends far beyond their village.

Masters of the Rose World

Pranabir and Ashok, often referred to as “rosepreneurs” or rose experts, have made significant strides in the world of roses. Their extensive nursery spans across 20 acres, where they have nurtured and propagated over 3,000 rose varieties. Their dedication to the art of rose cultivation has earned them recognition from the Indian Rose Federation, which honored them with a prestigious Gold Medal.

Roses for the World

What truly sets the Maiti Brothers apart is their global reach. Their roses, renowned for their quality and diversity, find their way to various corners of the world. These beautiful blooms grace countries like Thailand, Holland, the Maldives, Malaysia, Mauritius, Switzerland, and more.

The Rashtrapati Bhavan Connection

Every year, during the months of November and December, the Rashtrapati Bhavan receives a special supply of rose plants from the Maiti Brothers’ nursery. These roses are meticulously selected for their ability to thrive and retain their beauty.

A Special Note on Rashtrapati Bhavan

While Rashtrapati Bhavan boasts its own Mughal Garden, it is the Maiti Brothers’ roses that steal the show. The roses planted in the Mughal Garden tend to wither after a short period, which is why the Maiti Brothers’ roses are preferred for their long-lasting beauty and fragrance.

Presidential Recognition

In 2015, the Maiti Brothers received an exceptional opportunity. They were invited to the Rashtrapati Bhavan to rejuvenate and enhance the rose varieties available there. Notably, they even named a rose variety after the former President of India, Pranab Mukherjee, and his wife, Shubhra Mukherjee, in recognition of their valuable contributions to the world of roses.

The Maiti Brothers of Bengal have carved their names in the history of roses, creating a legacy that stretches from their picturesque village to the prestigious gardens of Rashtrapati Bhavan and beyond. With their dedication and expertise, they continue to bring the world the beauty and fragrance of their beloved roses.
